SENIOR ACCOUNT CLERK Purchasing Agent / Deputy Treasurer Starting Salary: $50,318 + Benefits DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE POSITION Hoosic Valley Central School District is seeking a qualified Senior Account Clerk to join the District's Business Office. This position is responsible for maintaining and reviewing financial accounts and records and performing a variety of accounting and business office functions. The successful candidate will also serve as the District's Purchasing Agent and Deputy Treasurer . The position requires a high degree of accuracy, organization, confidentiality, and attention to detail. The employee works independently within established policies, procedures, and regulations. TYPICAL DUTIES Duties include, but are not limited to: Maintain and review financial accounts, records, journals, and ledgers. Process and classify receipts, expenditures, invoices, and other financial transactions. Verify and reconcile account balances and resolve discrepancies. Prepare bills, receipts, financial records, and reports. Serve as Purchasing Agent, including processing purchase orders and related purchasing documentation. Assist with budget preparation and monitor expenditures and budgetary control. Serve as Deputy Treasurer and assist with the District's financial and cash management responsibilities. Compile financial and statistical information and prepare reports. Maintain accurate and organized financial records and files. Respond to routine financial and purchasing inquiries from staff, vendors, and the public. Operate computers, financial software, calculators, and other office equipment. Daily, in-person banking transactions Perform related duties as required. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Good knowledge of financial recordkeeping and accounting practices; knowledge of office procedures and equipment; knowledge of business arithmetic and English; ability to make accurate mathematical computations; ability to understand and follow oral and written directions; ability to organize work and maintain accurate records; ability to work independently; and ability to establish effective working relationships with staff, vendors, and the public. A high degree of accuracy, good judgment, tact, courtesy, and clerical aptitude are essential. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two (2) years of experience maintaining financial accounts and records. SALARY AND BENEFITS Starting Salary: $50,318 annually, plus benefits. Benefits include health insurance, retirement, paid leave, and other benefits provided in accordance with District policy and applicable agreements.
