Inspire the Next Generation of Readers, Writers & Thinkers The Hoosic Valley Central School District is seeking an enthusiastic, student-centered English Teacher to join our Jr./Sr. High School beginning November 30, 2026. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about helping students find their voice, strengthen their communication skills, and develop a lifelong appreciation for reading and writing. Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging English Language Arts instruction aligned with the New York State Learning Standards. Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to read, write, think critically, and express themselves confidently. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners. Use assessment data to inform instruction and monitor student progress. Encourage meaningful discussion, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking. Collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff to promote student success. Participate in school initiatives, professional learning, and the life of the school community. Qualifications Valid New York State Teacher Certification in English Language Arts (7–12) required. Strong instructional, communication, and classroom management skills. Passion for helping students become confident readers, writers, and communicators.
