The Hoosic Valley Central School District is seeking a qualified individual for a full-time, 12-month probationary position as District Data Coordinator, effective immediately. This is a competitive provisional appointment. The successful candidate must meet the qualifications for and pass the District Data Coordinator Exam through the Rensselaer County Civil Service Commission when scheduled.The role involves performing database management functions utilizing various software packages, including computer operation, database maintenance, data analysis, and maintaining/transmitting office-specific activities. The position reports to the School Superintendent.TYPICAL DUTIES INCLUDE:State Reporting: Maintain/transmit NYS required data elements; define/document data collection standards/State codes for State/federal reporting.System/Data Expertise: Technical expertise in district management system(s) & infrastructure; working knowledge of current reporting requirements (including special populations); knowledge of district registration processes; point of contact for E-school Data.Data Quality & Governance: Develop a data verification protocol for accurate SIRS transfer; communicate data governance standards; review electronic systems for alignment; monitor data standards/records compliance.Analysis & Reporting: Data analysis experience; provide status reports to the Superintendent; respond to data requests; submit data extracts that conform to Data Warehouse file formats.Coordination/Liaison: Coordinate Distance Learning, State Assessment Testing, and district data team meetings; oversee new technologies/training; act as liaison to the regional Level 1 data center; obtain SIRS authorization for personnel.Support: Provide Guidance Support; identify training needs for support staff; point of contact for PARCC and Data Dashboard.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:Thorough knowledge of data base and related applications software; skill in the manipulation of database to fulfill data storage and report generation needs; ability to follow complex directions; ability to establish/maintain cooperative working relationships; ability to assemble/lead a team of district personnel; sound judgment; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science or Computer Technology) from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college/university AND five (5) years experience with various computer software programs.
