Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and InstructionStart Date: July 1, 2025Salary Range: Regionally Competitive12-month position Major Responsibilities of PositionSupervise Principals, Directors, and Vice/Assistant Principals Supervise Curriculum Area Lead Teachers, Grade Chairs, Instructional Coaches, Secretary, Registrar, Data Analyst, Data Teams, and others deemed necessary by the Superintendent;Assist/lead areas of personnel and human resource functions Coordinate the development and implementation of K-12 curriculum and assist in the selection of instructional materials;Direct the organization and administration of the NYS K-12 Standardized Assessments;Coordinate the reporting of student performance to evaluate student progress and program effectiveness;Submit grant applications, program plans, corrective action plans, and staff performance reports;Serve as Wellness Coordinator, Records Access Officer, Residency Officer, and McKinney-Vento Liaison;Coordinate district-wide professional learning by working collaboratively with the Professional Learning Committee;Lead the hiring and onboarding of instructional substitute personnel;Oversee the Pre-Kindergarten Program, ELL program, and the Early Intervention Program;Serve as member of the Administrative Cabinet, and collaborate regarding district initiatives;Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools. Required Minimum QualificationsPossess or be eligible to possess a NYSED SDA or SDL certificationPrevious experience as a principal and/or similar district-level administrative position;Extensive knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment best practices Experience in using data for informing and enhancing teaching and learning;Knowledge of Human Resource related legal requirements;Knowledge of recruitment and hiring practices.Required DocumentsJob specific cover letterThree (3) current letters of recommendationCurrent resume The Homer Central School District is an equal opportunity employer
