The Hannibal Central School District is seeking a dedicated and qualified Long-Term Substitute School Counselor to join our team at Hannibal High School. This position is expected to start around December 2nd and continue through mid-February.Position Overview: The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive counseling services to high school students, with a focus on supporting juniors and seniors. Responsibilities include reviewing student transcripts, assisting with FAFSA and college application processes, and addressing the daily academic, career, and social-emotional needs of our students.Key Responsibilities: - Review and evaluate the academic records of juniors and seniors. - Provide guidance and support to students completing FAFSA applications and college admissions processes. - Address the day-to-day needs of students, including academic advising and social-emotional support. - Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student success. - Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with district policies. Qualifications: - Valid NYS certification as a School Counselor. - Previous experience in a school counseling role preferred. - Familiarity with college admissions processes and financial aid (FAFSA). - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
