Requirements include: Valid NYS Students w/ Disabilities 1-6 or Students w/Disabilities 7-12 or Students w/Disabilities All Grades Certification Valid NYS Bilingual Education Extension Certification Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provide bilingual instruction with a knowledge of various teaching strategies to reach all learners Progressively expand student’s understanding and use of English as a New Language in a Bilingual setting Design lessons that provide opportunity for problem-solving, creativity, and real-world applications Establish and maintain standards for behavior that foster student self-discipline and positive relationships among students Monitor student performance through data collection and adjust teaching strategies and techniques for improved content delivery Communicate with parents/guardians of students
