Job Announcement: Middle School Assistant Principal Location: Hampton Bays Middle School Reports to: Middle School Principal Start Date: July 27, 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter Application Deadline: July 1, 2026 The Opportunity Hampton Bays Middle School is seeking a high-capacity leader who possesses leadership skills that include a blend of technical mastery, instructional expertise, middle-level education and human resource management. We are looking for a candidate who sets an exacting standard for excellence and is committed to fostering an environment where every student and staff member is seen, challenged, and supported. Core Responsibilities Master Scheduling: Design, implement, and manage a complex middle school master schedule that prioritizes instructional minutes, supports diverse learner needs and maximizes staffing efficiencies. Instructional Leadership: Drive academic rigor by conducting observations, providing actionable feedback, and utilizing data to inform school-wide instructional strategies. Student Culture: Lead a restorative approach to student discipline and social-emotional growth, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and disciplined environment for the middle-level developmental stage. Operational Management: Oversee daily school operations, including state testing administration, safety protocols, and extracurricular programming. Community Engagement: Act as a bridge between the school and community, fostering partnerships with families and stakeholders. As a Baymen, your job is to honor tradition while inspiring innovation. Proven Expertise in Master Scheduling: Candidates must demonstrate a deep technical understanding of scheduling logic and the ability to build a schedule from the ground up. Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual Proficiency (English/Spanish) : Strongly preferred to facilitate deep engagement with our diverse student body and community. Administrative Experience: Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity with a track record of measurable impact. Middle-Level Expertise: A dedicated background in middle school education with an understanding of the specific pedagogical and developmental needs of grades 5–8.
