2026 - 2027 SCHOOL YEAR VACANCY Department of Bilingual Education & World Languages Internal Candidates Only POSITIONS: FLES/WORLD LANGUAGE INSTRUCTIONAL COACH The primary focus of this role is to provide high-impact instructional coaching to teachers, strengthening their use of research-based strategies for language acquisition. Concurrently, the Instructional Coach will engage in dedicated professional growth, receiving ongoing mentorship and external professional development to continuously sharpen their own coaching practices. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Professional Growth & Continuous Development (For the Coach) Participate actively in a professional growth cycle through coaching by a coach/mentor to continually refine and elevate your own coaching practices. Select and attend 4 professional development workshops through BOCES to sharpen your instructional expertise, leadership skills, and knowledge base. Supporting Classroom Teachers Design and lead structured, job-embedded individual coaching cycles to build long-term teacher capacity. Plan and facilitate district professional development sessions for FLES and World Language Staff focused on: FLACS -aligned instruction and assessment practices. Vocabulary development and high-impact academic discourse Culturally responsive and sustaining education (CRSE) Collaborate with High School World Language teachers to expand pathways and increase the number of students earning the NYS Seal of Biliteracy. Maintain consistent, transparent communication with teachers and the Director of Bilingual Education & World Languages. LOCATION: Districtwide (Marshall School) QUALIFICATION: Valid New York State TESOL certification and/or Bilingual Extension COMPENSATION : Service Assignment II The selected applicant will be required to submit a monthly log to reflect 10 hours worked monthly, which identifies activities beyond the regular workday.
