2025 - 2026 SCHOOL YEAR VACANCY POSITION: SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST – LEAVE REPLACEMENT The school psychologist helps children and youth succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. They help students by applying the values of learning and behaviors to improve school related difficulties and by encouraging the learning and development of children. The school psychologist gets together with educators, parents and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environment for all students. LOCATION: Districtwide REQUIREMENTS: Valid New York State Certification DATES: March 2, 2026 – June 30, 2026DUTIES: School psychologists are involved in various forms of intervention to help promote development, to acquire and best utilize personal, school, family, and community resources and to minimize difficulties and disorders. These interventions can be divided into: ? Direct and indirect services that are geared toward students, parents, and teachers. Interventions involving students may be designed to facilitate their development in one or more of the following areas: intellectual, academic, affective, social, personality, temperament, adaptive, language, psychomotor, vocational and neuropsychological development and status. ? Interventions often involve school psychologists working directly with individuals, groups, or systems or indirectly (i.e., through consultation) with teachers, principals and other educational personnel, parents and other family members, as well as other professionals and paraprofessionals.
