The permanent substitute teacher reports to the same school each day, checking in with clerical and administrative staff to receive teaching assignments. They are also flexible, filling both short-term and long-term teaching assignments. Job Duties: Assume all duties and responsibilities of the absent teacherFollow lesson plans left by the regular classroom teacherLeave feedback and notes for the regular classroom teacherMaintain a positive learning environmentEffectively manage a classroom of students by keeping them on task and engagedAssist with non-classroom duties when assignedPROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:A Valid New York State Teacher CertificationPERSONAL QUALITIES:Capacity to manage multiple responsibilities and competing demandsDemonstrated ability to work in a calm and respectful mannerMaintain a positive, encouraging attitude to motivate others.Candidate must enjoy working with children COMPENSATION: Permanent Substitute Teachers are paid a per-diem rate of $165.00 per dayCLOSING DATE: August 5th 2022
