ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF SPECIAL PROGRAMSThe Director of Special Education is a full-time, 12-month administrative position that reports to the Director of Special Education. The Assistant Director of Special Programs plays a critical leadership role in supporting the effective operation of Herkimer BOCES special education, alternative education, and related services programs. This position collaborates closely with program Directors, the Assistant Superintendent, and the Instructional Support Services (ISS) team to ensure high-quality instruction, staff development, and compliance across all Special Programs. The Assistant Director also oversees staff supervision, Medicaid compliance, and the coordination of itinerant services to ensure that all students receive equitable and effective educational support.
