Located in Albany, New York’s historic West Hill neighborhood, the Henry Johnson Charter School (HJCS) is a K-4 building with an enrollment of approximately 350 scholars. HJCS is now reviewing candidates for an Assistant Principal position anticipated to begin on July 1, 2024. The Assistant Principal is expected to incorporate research-based strategies that will enhance teaching, learning, equity, and engagement. This position, which reports to the principal, will help supervise staff and programs at the elementary level. The Assistant Principal will work with the administrative team to support staff in implementing learning standards, behavioral expectations, instructional practices, and assessments, while maintaining a safe and orderly learning environment. The Assistant Principal will work with the school’s parent liaison to foster positive relationships.Candidates must be SBA/SBL Certified.
