Hicksville Public Schools seeks a qualified and energetic individual with a passion for elementary instrumental music.  Qualified candidates should have a strong background in band pedagogy.   Bilingual (Spanish), and previous work with special needs students is a plus.QUALIFICATIONS:  Must hold valid NYS Certification in Music K-12ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:Daily band instruction at the elementary level, grades 4-5Recruit for and prepare band ensembles in grades 4-5 that include weekly rehearsals and multiple public performances each year.Willingness to incorporate educational technology into the music classroomCommitment to a team-oriented approach throughout the district music departmentThe Hicksville Public Schools music department has been recognized nationally by the NAMM Foundation as one of the “Best Communities for Music Education”.
