Hicksville Public Schools anticipates a vacancy for a qualified and energetic individual with a passion for vocal music instruction for High School level students. QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold valid NYS Certification in Music K-12; vocal pedagogy for advanced level singers as well as comparable keyboard skills.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Daily rehearsal and group lesson planning and instruction for students in grades 9-12 that aligns with district and state standards. Prepare students for ensemble performances throughout the year.Willingness to incorporate educational technology as part of daily instruction.Commitment to a team oriented approach throughout the High School and District wide music department.Qualified candidates should have a strong background in vocal pedagogy, classroom music techniques and experience with keyboard accompaniment. The Hicksville Public Schools music department has been recognized nationally by the NAMM Foundation as one of the “Best Communities for Music Education”.
