Hicksville Public School’s educational program is designed to prepare students to be successful after they graduate In Hicksville, every student counts as the district prides itself on addressing the social, emotional, and developmental needs of its children.Hicksville is situated in Nassau County, Long Island, New York. The district serves more than 5,000 students attending nine schools (seven elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school).The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with a highly committed Board of Education, an exceptional professional and support staff, a caring and involved parent community, and a diverse and talented student body. Qualifications:The successful candidate will be:A person of high integrity who values diversity and treats others with dignity and respect;An accomplished professional who has held increasingly responsible leadership positions in public schools (preferably with central administrative office experience);A strong manager who delegates well and holds others accountable;An individual who will be highly visible within the district’s schools and community;A visionary leader who inspires academic excellence and innovation, and promotes high expectations for students and staff success;An excellent and proactive communicator who welcomes using multiple platforms to listen, learn, and inform while keeping staff, parents, students, and community continuously engaged;A professional with an understanding of the interplay between school finance, personnel, curriculum, and basic infrastructure;A professional who understands the social/emotional needs of students by virtue of having previously held the position of teacher or comparable position within a school setting;A professional who is versed in the needs of multicultural learners and children with special needs and;A professional who understands current educational issues confronting Long Island, New York, and the nation.Basic Requirements, Salary, Benefits:New York State licensing as a School District Administrator or School District Leader is required.
