Library Media Specialist Half Hollow Hills is seeking a passionate and innovative Elementary Library Media Specialist to inspire a love of reading and inquiry in our K-5 students. We're looking for a dynamic educator who can foster a vibrant library environment, integrate technology effectively, and collaborate with staff to enhance learning across the curriculum. This is a long-term substitute position from August 28-October 31, 2025. Key Responsibilities: Manage and maintain an engaging and diverse collection of library resources, including print, digital, and multimedia materials.Develop and deliver engaging lessons that promote information literacy, critical thinking, digital citizenship, and a lifelong love of reading.Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources and technology into classroom instruction, supporting curriculum goals.Provide guidance and support to students and staff in accessing and utilizing various technologies and online resources.Maintain an inviting and organized library space that encourages independent exploration and collaborative learning.Perform administrative tasks related to library operations, including budgeting, cataloging, and inventory. Qualifications: Master's degree in Library Science, Library and Information Science, or a related field from an accredited institution.Valid New York State teaching certification with a Library Media Specialist endorsement (or eligibility for certification).Demonstrated knowledge of elementary literature, information literacy standards, and current educational technology trends.Experience working with elementary-aged children in a library or educational setting.
