QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:Teacher Assistant Certification Required.Experience with library organization and circulation procedures.Experience with elementary age students, classroom management and instruction.Expertise in basic technology, including computer operation, productivity software, and Google Apps for Education preferred. DESCRIPTION OF ROLE: The Elementary Library Media Teaching Assistant , directed by the Director of Instructional Technology, is responsible for delivering instruction in cooperation with the Library Media Specialist.Promote a love of literacyEnsure students are effective users of ideas and information,Empower students to become critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers and ethical users of information,Model and and inspire a love of learning in all students with equitable access to information, and Deliver instructional plans and units in collaboration with Library Media SpecialistSupport automated catalog and circulation system TERMS OF EMPLOYMENTThe Elementary Library Media Teaching Assistant will be employed as part of the HFTATAU Contract. Salary and benefits will be determined by the negotiated agreement between the HFTATAU and the Hudson Falls Central School District.SALARYRegionally competitive salary per the HFTATAU contract.EVALUATIONPerformance of this position will be evaluated annually by a member of administration in conjunction with the Library Media Specialist. REPORTS TOThe Elementary Library Media Teaching Assistant reports to the K-5 Library Media Specialist, Director of Instructional Technology and the elementary building principals.
