Special Education has an opening for a full-time, 12 month, Bus Driver/Custodial Worker.This is a routine and repetitive manual work involving responsibility for both th efficient and economical performance of cleaning, occasional minor maintenance tasks and the safe transportation of school children on an assigned bus route. The work is performed under the general supervision of a superior in accordance with established policies and procedures but allow some leeway for exercise of independent judgment. Supervision over the work of others is not a responsibility of employees in this class. Does related work as required.TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES (Illustrative but not exhaustive):Maintains orderly conduct of children on busSweeps and mops floors and stairsDusts desks, furniture and other equipmentWashes windows, walls, sinks and other fixturesOperates a school bus on a regular schedule or on special occasionsCleans rooms and equipment, and assists in making minor plumbing, electrical,and carpentry repairs on an occasional basis or during summer vacationClears snow and ice from walksRepairs window shades, replaces light bulbs, soap and towelsMay prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports.The above examples of duties are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. Possession of the license at the time of permanent appointment.
