HFM BOCES Special Education program is looking for a Transition Specialist. This person would provide direct student services as well as technical assistance to school districts regarding transition programming needs and effective strategies to reach their goals. This full-time, 10 month tenure eligible position has a start date of 12/22/2021 or sooner if a qualified applicant is selected. REQUIREMENTS: Must be NYS certified and eligible for Teacher on Special Assignment appointment. 5 yr. or more experience in a high school setting and Special Education and/or School Counselor certification preferred. Ideal candidates have experience working with SWD 13yr. - 21yr. and writing transition IEP goals, extensive knowledge of CDOS, as well as high school guidance counselor experience.
