The Herkimer Central School District is seeking a Business Manager or Business Official. Some of the job duties include coordination and preparation of the Annual School Budget for all departments of the school including the preparation of Budget documents for presentation to the Board and public. Conduct fiscal planning to include forecasting anticipated revenue, expenditures, and needs to ensure sound financial operation; Monitor financial activities throughout the year to include fund balance estimates and reserve levels to ensure that all legal and regulatory requirements are met; Monitor debt obligation to aid in tax cap calculation and planning for future capital projects; Oversight of fiscal aspects of capital projects; Supervision of school accounting and financial applications including related reports to appropriate governmental agencies; supervise payroll operations and related reporting to appropriate agencies. Supervision of Business Office Personnel and related operations including maintenance and operation department. Monitor EFT banking transactions: Act as Purchasing Agent for the district, authorizing all purchase orders and requisitions; Review and preparation of all district contracts; Prepares long range planning for financial, enrollment and related needs; Interprets policies, laws, and technologies which affect operation of the district; Search, develop and submission of grant proposals and other available funding beyond State and local tax revenues.
