Position Available: July 1, 2024ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT FOR BUSINESSThe ideal candidate is a service-oriented and collaborative leader who understands that the role of the business office and operations department is to provide timely support to all students, staff, and families in a fiscally responsible manner. The qualities and characteristics we are seeking include honesty, integrity, transparency, and significant experience in all facets of school business, finance, and operations. The candidate will also possess outstanding listening, speaking, and communication skills with a belief that working and interacting alongside all district stakeholders is paramount to a successful school district.The Assistant Superintendent for Business reports to the Superintendent. Responsibilities include overseeing all business, financial, facilities, safety, food service, and transportation operations of the District while supporting the educational program of the district into a comprehensive and prudent fiscal plan that puts students first.Additional Performance Responsibilities include: Ensure attainment of applicable objectives of District’s Strategic PlanAllocate resources aligned to the District's mission and strategic goals in a fiscally responsible and transparent manner.Budget development, presentations, updates of fund balance projections and prepare monthly reports on financial position.Collaborate with Cabinet Members (Curriculum and Instruction, Pupil Personnel Services, Human Resources, Technology & Innovation).Oversee and steward capital projects.Supervise the Director of Facilities, Food Service Management, and the Director of Transportation.Coordinate and supervise all audits (e.g., annual, internal, claims, Office of State Comptroller, or other) and prepare necessary responses and corrective action plans to governmental agencies.Facilitate the Audit and Finance Committee with the Board of Education Chairperson(s).Participate in collective bargaining negotiationsOversee all accounting operations including receivables, payables, payroll, general ledger, and internal control procedures.Any other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.Applicants must possess (or be eligible for) valid NYS certification as a School District Administrator and/or as a School District Business Leader.
