K-12 INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY FACILITATOR - (ANTICIPATED)Position will be a teacher on special assignment. Tenure area to be determined based on certification and New York State Education Department Guidelines.REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Technology & InnovationJOB OVERVIEW: Seeking a highly motivated and innovative Technology Facilitator. The candidate will be responsible for assisting teachers in the development and implementation of technology-integrated curriculum across all grade levels, providing software support and professional development, and communicating with staff, parents, students, and community members. Instructional Technology Facilitator will collaborate with the Executive Director of Technology & Innovation and the building principals to support the integration of technology with curriculum across the district.QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree and Master's Degree from an accredited college or university Valid New York State teacher certification 3+ years of successful teaching experience Experience developing and delivering a variety of adult professional development Google Certified Educator/Google Certified Trainer preferred New York State Educational Technology Specialist Certification (Highly Preferred) Understand principles of coding, media literacy, systems design, and digital ethics as outlined in the NYS Computer Science and Digital Fluency and ISTE standards Understand instructional professional learning models as well as instructional technology integration frameworks like the SAMR model Relevant experience as an instructional coach, instructional technology specialist, technology teacher, professional developer, or technology support Strong knowledge of instructional technology tools and resources, including Google Workspace, digital content creation tools, block coding, and basic robotics Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and staff Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Flexibility and adaptability to work in a variety of settingsKEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Can instruct and collaborate with other school staff and students in using technology for teaching and learning. Co-plan and co-teach lessons / units with classroom teachers, librarians, and other teaching staff to deliver integrated curriculum to students. Can provide training, integration strategies in lessons, and support to teachers and administrators empowering them to use technology effectively. Exhibit flexibility, adaptability, and resourcefulness in an ever-changing technology environment. Collaborate with the technology department to create cohesive instructional plans and develop professional development classes/courses/opportunities for teachers. Facilitate professional learning for teachers and/or grade level teams as well as support staff to build capacity and expertise in the use of instructional technology. Collaborate with building and district administration to design, implement and support learning opportunities for teachers and support staff. Utilize innovative practice to engage students and colleagues in the use of instructional technology. Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to incorporate technology, STEAM and Design Thinking principles. Demonstrate a commitment to student-centered and project-based learning experiences. Research, test, and review new technology Support District initiatives such as computer-based assessment, computer science digital fluency standards implementation, etc.RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT: Research and develop new integrations and innovations with emerging technology Work with the district technology committee to provide input and feedback for instructional technology decisions for the school and district Attend related meetings such as the K-12 Technology Committee or other building committee meetings to advocate for the meaningful integration of technology with curriculum Continue to grow professionally in learning new approaches to teaching and learning and in collaboration with colleagues through programs supported by the District, such as team meetings, workshops, and conferencesTECHNICAL MANAGEMENT: Support technical aspects of instruction, if needed, when technical support services is unavailable Coordinate with the Technical Services department to ensure equipment is installed, maintained, repaired, and inventoried according to school and district needs Coordinate with Data Services and technical services to ensure rosters for instructional platformers are updated.
