Diversity, Equity and Inclusivity ManagerCandidate Profile: Ideally, the candidate for this position will be skilled in the following abilities: Collaboration, with all levels of faculty and staff, governmental and community members and stakeholders with the goal of developing, implementing and monitoring programs designed to ensure fair and equitable treatment of individuals. Develop, implement, monitor programs (internal and outreach) and processes that promote and sustain diversity and equality. Design, coordinate, and/or facilitate diversity and equity workshops, training, presentations, learning opportunities and other strategies, in conjunction with the Assistant Superintendent, that promote diversity, equity and inclusion with staff and students, as well as the community. Serve as a coordinator and liaison to develop mutually beneficial relationships and partnerships with community and governmental organizations/agencies relating to issues of equity. Provide assistance, advice, coaching/training and consultation to schools, community organizations and local government regarding cross-cultural competency, as well as policies and practices from the lens of diversity and equity. Coordinate data collection, entry, and reporting processes relative to equity work and practices. Use data to monitor and report progress in areas impacted by disproportionality. Assist in reviewing the need for and planning of alternative programming options for students at risk of failure or not graduating. Develop sustainable practices that work to maintain high achievement and eliminate racial, economic predictability and disproportionality that occupy lowest and highest achievement categories. Assist in improving community-wide engagement with diverse populations. Monitor budget/financial activities for grant funding and assist in pursuit of grant opportunities related to equity, diversity and inclusivity. Coordinate and facilitate equity audits in an effort to assist administration with any areas in need of attention for improvement. Convene and facilitate equity committees to assist with cultivating district-wide expertise to eliminate achievement gaps, equity gaps, and develop proactive ways of building a more equitable system.Support school staff to implement family engagement initiatives including family listening sessions.Assist Human Resource Manager in identifying, participating in and creating recruitment opportunities that might attract a more diverse pool of candidates for all job openings. All other duties as assigned.Job Specifications:This is a 12 month leadership position that serves as a coordinator and liaison between community, governmental agencies and other stakeholders throughout the communities within confines of school district perview. The DEI Manager will provide leadership in systemic equity and instructional practice. The main function of the position is to foster a culture of community, equity, diversity and inclusion, and to support students and staff in addressing issues and opportunities of equity that impact student learning. This position reports directly to the Superintendent of Schools or designee and will assist the Superintendent, in the ongoing focus toward diversity, equity and inclusivity, and fulfilling the mission of the Hudson City School District.
