Organization Profile: Hawthorne Foundation Inc. serves children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. Our educational, vocational and life skills programs are only a few of the programs available. Our goal is to enable each and every individual to reach his/her maximum potential in the least restrictive environment by selecting and promoting educational practices that are grounded in research and science, in particular applied behavior analysis; and, to assist each individual with identifying and realizing his/her own goals.Job Responsibilities (Speech Teacher):The Speech Teacher/Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) conducts 30 minute individual and group speech session per student IEP.The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) manages schedule to maximize IEP compliance (i.e., see all students on caseload per schedule).The SLP attends meetings with parents, classroom teachers, and school district representatives.The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) writes quarterly progress notes that report on progress toward IEP objectives.The Speech Language Pathologist writes progress notes for case reviews and special meetings.Measure learning continuously and graph data daily.Complete PSI modules.Attend biweekly staff meetings.The Speech-Language Pathologist works on special assignments with Director of Education (e.g., implementation assistive technology plans, working with augmentative communication systems and devices such as PECS).*MEDICAL/DENTAL/VISION BENEFITS *RETIREMENT PLAN* EDUCATION INCENTIVES*LIFE INSURANCE/AD&D*403B PLANS *PAID VACATION, HOLIDAY & SICK TIME FOR ELIGIBLE EMPLOYEES.EOERequired education: Masters DegreeRequired experience (if applicable): Experience with children with Autism/PDD and other developmental disabilities.Required license or certification (if applicable): New York State Teaching Certificate-Speech & Hearing Handicapped (TSHH) or Speech and Language Disabilities (TSLD).
