Harrison is seeking a visionary and experienced instructional leader to serve as the Supervisor of Elementary Special Education, starting July 1, 2026. This leadership position requires candidates to hold valid New York State certification in administration (SDA or SDL), certification as a special education teacher or related service provider, and at least seven years of successful teaching experience. Experience as an administrator, teacher leader, CSE chairperson, or professional developer strongly preferred. The expertise and responsibilities required of this position include, but are not limited to: Promoting a vision of special education programs and services that ensures equity and access for all students in the least restrictive environment possible. Conducting CSE meetings to ensure that special needs students are served in compliance with the requirements of the IEP and applicable special education laws and regulations. Fostering collaborative and productive relationships with parents of special needs students. Supervising curriculum, instruction, and assessments related to special education, including the observation and evaluation of special education teachers and related service providers. Designing and delivering professional development to promote teacher growth and enhance program effectiveness. Possessing thorough knowledge of research-based best practices related to special education and related support services. Ensuring compliance with state and federal rules and regulations related to special education. This leadership position includes a minimum starting salary of $148,880 (higher with leadership experience and/or doctorate), comprehensive benefits, tuition reimbursement, and extensive professional development.
