The Haldane Central School District is seeking applicants for an anticipated full-time probationary position as a School Psychologist to start on or about August 28, 2024. This position requires a New York State or National (NASP) Certification as a School Psychologist. The candidate will be responsible for supporting all grades (K through 12th grade) within the district following the NASP Practice Model. The ideal candidate will have experience meeting the learning, social-emotional, mental and behavioral health needs of students. This includes, but is not limited to, conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations, consulting with school-based teams, families and outside resources, developing behavior plans using FBAs, providing counseling services, developing academic interventions and participating in the CSE process. In addition, the School Psychologist will be an important member of the Threat Assessment Team, the Mental Health Team, as well as the School-wide Data Team.Leadership skills and a proactive approach are essential to this role as the School Psychologist will be expected to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders and will need to anticipate and to problem solve in unique situations. The ideal candidate must have the ability to display empathy and to connect on a personal level with students, families, and with colleagues alike. Likewise, the ideal candidate will demonstrate a desire to continue to learn and to grow, and to work toward supporting an inclusive and affirming environment for all students.
