School Counselor (HMS/HHS) Probationary PositionThe Haldane Central School District, located in Cold Spring, New York, is anticipating a vacancy and is seeking a full-time, NYS-certified School Counselor to fill the position. The position is probationary and is expected to begin on or around September 1, 2023.The ideal candidate should be prepared to support students in grades 6 - 9 primarily, but also be prepared to be part of a dynamic district-wide team tasked with improving the social, emotional, and mental well-being of all students in the Haldane school community. To that end, the Haldane CSD is seeking a candidate whose values will align with the Haldane Essentials (Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Communication, Growth Mindset, and Wellness) and whose priorities include ensuring a safe, respectful, culturally aware, and inclusive school environment. The candidate must be able to collaborate well with colleagues, form strong working relationships with families, and demonstrate a strong skill set, including the ability to engage in scheduling work, transition planning, as well as group and individual counseling. A key member of the school team, the School Counselor is expected to be present, visible, and involved in the learning community; the Counselor will be a member of many important committees, such as the Threat Assessment Team, the Mental Health Team, and the Student Support Team. Experience with PowerSchool and with NYS graduation requirements and pathways preferred.The Haldane CSD values inclusivity and welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds.
