Anticipated Special Education Primary Level (1.0) Position: The Guilderland Central School District is accepting applications for a full-time, tenure track probationary Special Education Teacher at the primary levelLocation: Lynnwood ElementaryMinimum Qualifications: Master’s degree with certification of students with disabilities grades 1-6. Preference will be given to those with SWD B-2 and literacy certification in addition to the SWD 1-6. Candidates must hold the following certifications: NYS Students with Disabilities Grades 1-6. Multiple certifications preferred including NYS Certification in Literacy . Candidates will be expected to:Assess students' skills to determine their needs and to develop teaching plans;Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students;Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student;Plan, organize, and assign activities that are specific to each student's abilities;Teach and mentor students as a class, in small groups, and one-on-one;Implement IEPs, assess students' performance, and track their progress;Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect students' progress and goals;Discuss student's progress with parents, teachers, and administrators;Complete other duties that support student access;Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly classroom environment;Engage students in the learning process;Provide both academic and behavioral support using a multi-tiered approach (i.e. RtI, and PBIS).APPLY ON OLASORMr. Regan D.
