The successful candidate will demonstrate:A child-centered philosophy.The ability to support students with disabilities in general education and special classroom environments under the direction of the classroom teacher. Strong communication skills and a willingness to collaborate with students, parents, colleagues and supervisors.Excellent organization of instructional materials.The ability to monitor and reinforce skills and concepts previously taught by the classroom teacher in individual or small group learning stations.Good judgment, problem-solving skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.Regular attendance, acceptance of responsibility, willingness to follow established procedures, cooperation and the ability to react appropriately to changing work conditions are normal expectations of the job. Other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.Candidates must hold NYS Teaching Assistant Level I, II or III Certification, or NYS Teacher Certification.Salary: Competitive starting salary.
