Responsibilities include: Conducting intakes with families who are referring preschool-age children (2.5 - 5) for a special education evaluationChairing CPSE meetingsOutreach to community preschool programs serving GNPS studentsObserving and consulting with the district pre-K programIEP writing/developmentConsulting with parents to provide strategies to address common behavioral concerns and facilitating language, social, and motor developmentCollaborating with multiple private agencies that conduct evaluations and provide servicesConsulting with NCDOH preschool divisionCollaborating with preschool special education center-based programsWorking closely with PPS administrators and the out-of-district coordinator to ensure successful planning for school-age transitions Preferred candidates will have experience working with young children and their families, familiarity with child development and how disabilities present in young children, understanding about the transitions between EI, CPSE, and CSE, experience chairing CSE/CPSE meetings and an excellent understanding of early childhood psycho-educational assessment.Compensation is per the GNPS teacher's contract. NYSED certification required.
