Each camp day, Site Supervisors are expected to open and close the camp site. Site Supervisors are required to collaborate with the Supervisor of the Summer Recreation program during the school year to evaluate the past summer’s program and to plan for the new season.Elementary Summer Recreation Camp hours - 8:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. 6-Week Salary: $10,405.50Assistant Site Supervisor of Sports Camp:The Assistant Supervisor of Sports Camp works with the Site Supervisor on daily program operations. The Assistant Supervisor becomes the primary supervisor of the program when the Site Supervisor is absent. Sports Camp hours - 10:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. 6-Week Salary: $7,360.20K-8 Aquatic Supervisor:The Aquatics Supervisor must oversee the pool area and all swimming activities at the pool. Supervise lifeguards and other required staff during swimming activities, implement the camp safety plan, and the daily camper buddy board procedures. Must possess current Nassau County Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, WSI, and Lifeguard Management certifications. Pool hours: 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 6-Week Salary: $10,631,40Physical Activity Specialist: Responsibilities include physical activity set-up, implementing daily activities, and camp events. In addition, assist counselors with camper games, activities, and observe their work with campers. The number of classes and period duration are to be determined by the master schedule. Elementary Summer Recreation Camp hours - 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 6-Week Salary: $6,243.30Sports Camp Program, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 6-Week Salary: $5,724.60Para Professional: Assist staff with daily routines, including student bus arrivals/dismissals, program activities, and camper needs. Elementary Summer Recreation Camp hours - 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 6-Week Salary: $4,460.40Sports Camp hours: 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 6-Week Salary: $4,089.00Nurse/Medical Designee:Candidates must be currently licensed as a Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Registered Nurse, Practical Nurse, or EMT. The medical designee is responsible for emergencies, first aid, record keeping, and overseeing children with special needs. Elementary Summer Recreation Camp, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 6-Week Salary: NegotiableK-4 Enrichment Instructional Specialists: Writing/Reading, Math, Music, Art, and STEM:Instruct/teach academically enriching classes to children in grades K-4. Locations will be Parkville or Saddle Rock, depending on student enrollment. Candidates must be certified teachers and should have experience working with a diverse group of learners. The number of classes and period duration are to be determined by the master schedule.Elementary K-4 site hours - 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 6-Week Salary: NegotiableHigh School Teachers for Credit RecoveryCandidates must be certified in the subject area. Responsibilities include: teaching a class for credit recovery in the subject area of certification; teaching lessons; giving and grading assessments; providing Regents preparation for courses that culminate with the August 2026 Regents exam; giving and grading a final exam; monitoring student attendance and communicating with summer administrators regarding any lateness or attendance issues; contacting parents. Responsibilities include: planning engaging lessons for multilingual learners across all four competencies (reading, writing, speaking, listening); differentiating instruction to meet diverse language needs; communicating with parents and handling any behavior issues that arise. Classes will be grouped by student grade level and/or student proficiency level, based upon student registration data.
