Bailey Elementary School RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:Maintain and reinforce high expectations for positive student behavior by maintaining consistent and constructive communication with students, school staff and families to ensure a positive school culture and climate.Works collaboratively with the Dean of Students at WMHS to plan for the transition of sixth grade students to the middle school.Implements the GCSD SEL Framework customized to the school campus.Models Restorative Practice strategies to support student behavior.Delivers appropriate training/professional development for school staff that facilitates the development of a positive culture and climate and is aligned with the implementation of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support and Social Emotional Learning in GCSD.Provides consultation and assistance to school staff in the successful implementation of systems and practices that supports positive culture, climate, and behavior.Facilitates a school-wide effort to implement restorative justice practices that increases opportunities for student leadership and social-emotional support.Support teachers with efforts to build positive relationships with students.Collaborate with school leadership to create and implement a proactive school-wide behavior management system, which is rooted in restorative practices, with meaningful incentives and consequences.Evaluate existing programs for school behavior and culture and create new systems and structures to proactively address school's areas of need.Lead and support a school culture/equity team focused on supporting school culture and equity priorities.Works with staff to reduce recurrence of behaviors.Coordinates school-wide research-based strategies for restorative practices and social-emotional learning.Orients each student to school expectations and the Code of Conduct.Works closely with school psychologist and social worker and parent/family caregiver to address academic and behavior concerns. Documents and analyzes referrals and reason(s) for referrals to identify patterns in behaviors. Liaison to support families - makes parent/caregiver contact to give academic and behavioral progress reports.Meets with the Principal on a regular basis to share student data, such as attendance, academic compliance to classroom rules, improvement of behaviors, etc.Participates in required professional development and meetings. Performs all other related duties as assigned by the principal, including scheduling students to ensure that their academic needs are met.Facilitates meetings with the Emergency Response Team.
