The Greenburgh Central School District is actively seeking an Assistant Principal for the Woodlands Middle/High School. Performance Responsibilities:Leads in the implementation of the 7-12 instructional programAssists with the hiring of instructional and non-instructional staffLeverages the APPR process to support and retain effective staff or to develop or exit low performersEncourages staff to continue to grow professionally and to experiment with innovative approaches or strategies to teachingResponsible for one or more 7-12 content areas and/or programsAssists the principal in the overall administration of the schoolWhen designated, serves as a principal in the absence of the principalProposes schedules of classes and extracurricular activities, develops, and manages the master scheduleSupervises the preparation of student schedules and ensures records are maintained in the student management system (e.g., eSchool)Serves as a testing coordinator for assessments associated with the designated grade levelsWorks with department heads and faculty in compiling the annual budget requestsManages requisitions of supplies, textbooks, and equipment; conducts inventories; maintains records; and checks on receipts for such material with support from the Lead Teacher (PLC leader)Assists in safety inspections and safety drill practice activitiesAssumes responsibility for coordinating school support servicesAttends and supervises school eventsSupervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendanceConducts ongoing assessment of student learning and works with teaching staff to modify instructional methods to fit students' needs, including students with special needsPromotes a school environment that is safe and conducive to individualized instruction, cooperative curriculum development, and student learningEncourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parentsEnsures that student conduct and attendance conform with the school's standards and school district policiesUses Restorative Practices to strengthen relationships between teachers, students, and parentsUses data associated with Social and Emotional Learning outcomes to strengthen the total school programPerforms such record-keeping functions as the principal may direct*Multilingual applicants encouraged to apply.The Greenburgh Central School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate against employees, students or applicants on the basis of age, color, disability, gender, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, political affiliation, race, religion, sexual orientation, genetic information, or veteran status in hiring educational programs and activities it operates.
