Greenburgh Academy, located in Yonkers, NY, is seeking a dual-certified Special Education / Mathematics 7–12 teacher to fill an anticipated full-time, probationary vacancy. This position involves teaching high school students on both Regents-track and alternate assessment pathways, many of whom present with significant academic and behavioral needs.Key Responsibilities:Deliver engaging math instruction using a variety of methods tailored to diverse learning profiles.Implement IEP goals, Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and support students with complex communication and behavioral challenges.Integrate Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) practices into daily instruction.Maintain a structured, positive classroom environment conducive to student success.Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff.Required Certifications:NYS Students with Disabilities Grades 7–12NYS Mathematics Grades 7–12Preferred Qualifications:Experience working with students with emotional disabilities, autism, learning disabilities, speech impairments, OHI, and intellectual disabilities.Familiarity with small class settings (8:1:1 and 12:1:1 ratios).Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.Compensation & Benefits:Salary commensurate with experience, per contract.Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, NYS Teachers’ Retirement System membership, union representation, employee assistance program, and flexible spending account.About Us:Greenburgh Academy is one of four schools operated by the Greenburgh-North Castle Union Free School District, a New York State Special Act public school district serving students with special needs.
