Location:Greenburgh Academy - Yonkers, NYDistrict Description:Located in Westchester County, NY, Greenburgh-North Castle is a small special education school district servicing at-risk youth.Our rigorous curriculum equips our students for Regents or local diplomas, with the possibility of career-focused credentials through the CDOS program. Guided by New York State standards, small classes and intervention services ensure academic mastery.Our faculty are skilled in state of the art educational strategies, behavior management techniques, and are skilled in incorporating Social Emotional Learning within the curriculum.Job Summary:We are seeking a passionate and experienced educator to join our team as a Building Principal. In this leadership role, you will provide instructional leadership, manage day-to-day operations, and foster a positive and productive learning environment for all students. You will play a key role in shaping the academic success and well-being of our students.Responsibilities:Instructional Leadership:Develop, implement, and evaluate the school's curriculum and instructional programs.Observe and evaluate teachers, providing constructive feedback and coaching to enhance their practice.Monitor student progress and data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing targeted interventions.Operational Management:Managing the day-to-day operations of the school, ensuring a safe and orderly learning environment.Oversee staff & student discipline and implement District policies and procedures consistently and fairly.Manage student schedules, attendance, and records.Supervise support staff and ensure they are effectively meeting the needs of students and teachers.Act as a liaison between external agencies and the school.Community Engagement:Build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members.Communicate effectively with stakeholders about the school's mission, goals, and progress.Partner with parents and community members to support student learning and success.Additional Responsibilities:Participate in school improvement planning and initiatives.Stay informed about current educational trends and best practices.Attend recurring Monday Cabinet meetings with District leadership.Misc Central Office assignments.Qualifications:Master's degree in Education Administration or related fieldSBL or acceptable alternate certificateDemonstrated leadership experience in an educational settingStrong understanding of curriculum development and instructional best practicesExcellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skillsAbility to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholdersCommitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environmentKnowledge of New York State Education guidelines and proceduresPreferred Qualifications:Doctorate in Education Administration or related fieldExperience working with students with disabilitiesKnowledge of Google Workspace products (Drive, Docs, Sheets)Familiarity with eSchoolPlus or other SISBenefits:Competitive salary and benefits packageOpportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of studentsWork in a collaborative and supportive environment
