The Galway Central School District is accepting applications for a Full-Time probationary Jr/Sr High School Music Teacher starting September 1, 2024. Candidates for this position shall possess a valid NYS Certificate in K-12 Music Education, Choral and instrumental experience preferred. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in choral and general music education, with a passion for nurturing musical growth and creativity in adolescent learners. Salary is commensurate on experience and demonstrated success on NYS Assessments. Applicants who have been selected for interviews will be contacted by the District.Grade Levels: 6-12 Secondary SchoolThe District is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Music Educator to join our team at the 6-12 Responsibilities:Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum for students in grades 6-12.Direct and conduct choral ensembles, fostering vocal technique, musicianship, and ensemble skills.Teach music theory, history, and appreciation through engaging and innovative instructional methods.Offer opportunities for student leadership and collaboration through extracurricular music activities and performances.Collaborate with colleagues in the Fine Arts department to integrate music with other artistic disciplines.Utilize technology and multimedia resources to enhance music instruction and student learning.Serve as a mentor and advocate for students, supporting their artistic development and personal growth.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).New York State teaching certification in Music Education (PK-12).Experience teaching choral and general music at the secondary level.Proficiency in piano; experience with theater and/or instrumental music is highly desirable.Knowledge of diverse choral repertoire and pedagogical approaches.Strong classroom management and communication skills.Ability to inspire and motivate adolescent learners in a supportive and inclusive environment.Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration with colleagues.
