Gloversville Enlarged School District, located at the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains and only 35 miles northwest of New York’s Capital District, is seeking an experienced, passionate, and energetic educational leader who understands the value and strength of a small-city school community to serve as the principal of Park Terrace Elementary School. We appreciate your interest in our school district.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, highly qualified educational leader to serve as principal for Park Terrace Elementary School beginning in the 2023-2024 school year. The successful candidate will have previous experience as an effective educator and a deep understanding of how children learn. We are seeking a leader with an understanding of highly effective instructional methods, particularly in reading; effective instructional improvement and professional learning; as well as parent, family, and community engagement. The successful candidate will demonstrate: The ability to foster deeply caring, honest, supportive, and meaningful relationships with scholars, faculty, staff, and parents/guardians.The ability to relate well to elementary school scholars in pre-kindergarten through grade two and demonstrate a commitment to their social-emotional, physical, and academic growth.A commitment to strong, innovative, and engaging academic programming for all scholars.The desire to focus on instructional goals and professional development in our school community.An in depth knowledge of elementary curriculum, instructional technology, and classroom management techniques.Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.The ability to collaborate well with others.The successful candidate will:Manage all facets of the daily operations of the school, including oversight of scholars, faculty, and staffPartner with central administration, district directors, and administrative colleagues to align initiatives and assist with instructional leadership.
