Gloversville Enlarged School District, located at the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains and only 35 miles northwest of the Capital District, is accepting applications for a secondary school counselor position. This is a full-time, tenure track, probationary position. Current certification as a New York State school counselor is required. Responsibilities include:Deliver comprehensive school counseling, utilizing the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) model.Active involvement in Social Emotional Learning (SEL) activities. Support students for academic, college, and career planning.Proactively engage with parents/guardians.Provide personal counseling to students and crisis intervention, as needed.Deliver counseling lessons, either in small group or classroom presentations.Assist in the Response to Intervention (RTI) process.Possess a keen knowledge of Special Education programming, support, and IEPs.Applications must include a resume, cover letter, unofficial transcripts, copy of certification, and reference letters.Gloversville Enlarged School District is an equal opportunity employer.
