ANTICIPATED VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT GROUNDS MAINTENANCE MAINTAINER Salary: As Per Contract Glen Cove City School District is committed to recruit and hire the most qualified staff members who are dedicated to the success of all students and the Glen Cove City community. Qualifications: Preferred 3 to 5 years of commercial or residential experience in landscaping. Good knowledge of practices, tools and materials used in grounds maintenance activities. Ability to operate snow removal equipment. Ability to perform routine labor as required, with endurance. Flexibility and willingness to assist and work with other trades as needed. Ability to follow oral and written directions. Positive attitude, good work ethic, initiative and good judgment. Must have full fingerprint clearance through NYSED and a “Letter of Good Conduct” from Police Department. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma. Possession of a valid New York State driver’s license appropriate to the vehicles operated. Essential Duties (include, but are not limited to): Mow lawns. Plant and care for flowers, shrubs and trees. Trim grass, hedges and trees. Sweep sidewalks. Shovel snow and patch driveways. Perform minor painting, fence repairs, and other related grounds work. Assist in building work. Perform other related work as required.
