VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL PROBATIONARY (11-MONTH POSITION) Salary : As Per Contract Glen Cove City School District is committed to recruit and hire the most qualified staff members who are dedicated to the success of all students and the Glen Cove City community. Job Description : Serve as the educational leader of the building, responsible for cultivating a safe, inclusive, and academically rigorous environment aligned with the district’s mission and values. Qualifications : NYS SBL/SAS Certification Minimum of three years of leadership experience and five years of successful teaching experience preferred Bilingual in Spanish preferred Fingerprinting clearance required Essential Duties (include, but are not limited to): Promote a culture of continuous improvement aligned with district goals and New York State standards Oversee assessment systems and ensure the effective use of data to inform instruction and improve outcomes Implement multi-tiered systems of supports (MTSS) Serve as the primary administrator for Section 504 processes, ensuring compliance with all regulations Ensure a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment Oversee school discipline policies, promote a positive school culture, and support restorative practices Reinforce strong moral and ethical values, fostering respectful, responsible citizenship within the school community Cultivate a professional learning community that values growth, collaboration, and innovation Provide mentorship, feedback, and opportunities for ongoing staff development Build strong partnerships with families and the wider community through open and consistent communication Manage building operations, including budget, scheduling, and resource allocation, in alignment with district policies and priorities Work closely with district administration to implement initiatives, comply with regulations, and contribute to the broader success of the school system Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or their designee Location : Landing Elementary School Deadline : July 13, 2026 Effective : o/a August 1, 2026 Application Instructions : Qualified candidates should apply via OLAS with a resume and letter of interest to Andrew DiNapoli, before the deadline.
