ANTICIPATED VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT District Treasurer 12-Month Position Salary Range: Starting at $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience Glen Cove City School District is committed to recruit and hire the most qualified staff members who are dedicated to the success of all students and the Glen Cove City community. Job Description: The District Treasurer will assume independent responsibility for the efficient management of the School District’s financial and operational affairs. Qualifications: (A) A Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years experience in maintaining financial accounts and records; OR (B) An Associate's Degree and four (4) years experience in maintaining financial accounts and records; OR (C)Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and six (6) years experience in maintaining financial accounts and records; OR (D) Any equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B) and (C) above sufficient to indicate ability to do the work. Essential Duties (include, but are not limited to): Serve as a Treasurer for the School District. Prepare financial and statistical reports for the Board of Education, Superintendent of Schools and NYS Education Department. Serve as an authorized signer on School District bank accounts. Prepare and maintain all receipts, disbursements and general ledgers for the school districts accounts on computer accounting software and spreadsheets. Maintain fixed asset inventory for district. Prepare estimated annual payroll budget and health benefits for approximately 700 district employees. Assist in the preparation of the annual school budget. Solicit bids and invest district funds in accordance with applicable regulations and policies. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or their designee.
