ANTICIPATED VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENTCOORDINATOR OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION, HEALTH, & ATHLETICSPROBATIONARY(11-MONTH POSITION) Salary: As Per ContractGlen Cove City School District is committed to recruit and hire the most qualified staff members who are dedicated to the success of all students and the Glen Cove City community.Job Description: To provide leadership and coordination of physical education, health instruction, and athletic programs to support student development and wellness.Qualifications:Valid NYS Certification as School District Administrator (SDL/SDA)Five years of relevant experience in teaching health and/or physical educationSuccessful background working with student athletes and coachesFingerprinting clearance requiredEssential Duties (include, but are not limited to):Provide leadership and oversight of K–12 health, physical education, and interscholastic athletic programs to ensure alignment with district goals, student access, and developmental appropriateness.Supervise and support staff development, including health and physical education teachers and all athletic coaches.Oversee and lead program operations, inclusive of scheduling contests, facilities and equipment, transportation, officials and support staff, and compliance with safety protocols and regulations.Oversee budget and resources, including the preparation and administration of a fiscally responsible annual budget, and the management of athletic uniforms, equipment, and facility use across the district.Sustain communication and community engagement by working with students, families, and the broader school community; promoting athletic achievements through district channels; and organizing seasonal meetings, award ceremonies, and outreach events.Maintain regulatory awareness and compliance, including monitoring changes in athletic guidelines, concussion protocols, and eligibility requirements in collaboration with the school health office and athletic trainer.Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or their designee.Location: DistrictDeadline: June 29, 2025Effective: o/a July 1, 2025Application Instructions: Qualified candidates should apply via OLAS with a resume and letter of interest to Andrew DiNapoli, before the deadline.
