VACANCYGROUNDS MAINTENANCE MAINTAINERLocation: DistrictHours: 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.General Description:Mows lawns; plants; cares for flowers, shrubs and trees; trims grass, hedges andtrees; sweeps sidewalks, shovels snow and patches driveway; does related work asrequired.Qualifications:• Preferred 3 to 5 years of commercial or residential experience in landscaping.Good knowledge of practices, tools and materials used in grounds maintenance activities.• Ability to operate snow removal equipment.• Ability to perform routine labor as required, with endurance.• Flexibility and willingness to assist and work with other trades as needed.Perform minor painting, fence repairs, and other related grounds work.• Ability to follow oral and written directions.• Positive attitude, good work ethic, initiative and good judgment.• Must have full Fingerprint clearance through NYSED and “Letter of Good Conduct” from Nassau County Police Department required.• Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma.• Possession of a valid New York State driver’s license appropriate to the vehicles operated.Effective: Immediately
