VACANCYCook I Elementary School(Assistant Cook)(29.5 Hours per week)Location: GribbinSchool Hours: 8:00 a.m.-1:50 p.m. (subject to change)Responsibilities included but not limited to:• Work under the directive of the School Manager/Cook• Ability to assume the directive of the School Manager/Cook• Ability to supervise, delegate, and instruct staff and make onsite decisions in the absence of the School Manager/Cook• Assist in all areas of meal preparation, service and cleanup• Ability to follow batch-cooking procedures and serve food properly and attractively• Ability to place, receive, inspect and check all food, drink and supply deliveries• Ability to cook and follow standardized recipes• Ability to assist and complete all aspects of paperwork, including but not limited to Food Production Record Book, Inventory• Knowledge of all Microsoft applications, operation of POS system and ability to troubleshoot as needed• Ability to complete work in a timely manner• Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills• Ability to communicate with School Administration in a professional manner• Ability to follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures (HACCP)• Must be punctual and have a record of good attendance• Must have successfully completed the Food Service Manager Training Course through Nassau County Board of Health• Experience in large-scale cooking• Prior knowledge of and experience in the same or similar position preferred• Must have full fingerprint clearance through NYSED OSPRASalary: As per contractEffective: September 1, 2023
