Cook 1 High School(Assistant Cook)(33.75 hours per week)Location: High SchoolWork Hours: 7:15 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (Subject to change)Responsibilities/Requirements include but are not limited to:• Working under the directive of the School Manager and Cook• Assuming all cooking responsibilities in the absence of the Cook in charge• Ability to supervise, delegate, and instruct staff• Making relevant decisions in the absence of the Cook• Assisting in all areas of meal preparation, service and cleanup• Following batch-cooking procedures and serving food properly and attractively• Following standardized recipes• Receiving, inspecting, and checking all food and supply deliveries• Assisting and completing Food Production Record Book, inventory and payroll when necessary• Knowledge of computers, all Microsoft applications, Mosaic POS system, and troubleshooting as needed• Completing work in a timely manner• Ability to get along with others and display professionalism at all times• Effectively communicating with school administrators• Maintaining punctuality and good attendance record• Showcasing good work ethic• Following proper food handling and sanitation procedures (HACCP) and ensuring staff follow guidelines• Successfully completing Food Service Manager Training Course through Nassau County Board of Health• Prior experience in large-scale cooking• Must have full fingerprinting clearance through NYSED OSPRASalary: As per contractEffective: ImmediatelyDeadline: May 31, 2023
