Requirements:¨ Responsible for chairing Committee on Special Education¨ Assist in the management of all special education programs and services¨ Support school administrators in screening, interviewing, and training various positions that are in accordance with student IEPs¨ Maintain accurate staffing lists and records based on student IEPs¨ Interpret policies and procedures and provide recommendations to schools concerning issues of compliance¨ Design professional development and improvement plans to ensure exemplary program operations and improve student achievement¨ Support and provide ongoing professional learning so that staff are knowledgeable about policy changes, new programs, and current best practices¨ Work with parents to promote and encourage understanding of special education as it relates to services provided to students as per an IEP¨ Perform additional duties as assigned¨ Knowledge of Part 200 and 504 regulations¨ Demonstrated supervisory and leadership ability¨ Excellent interpersonal skills¨ Excellent organizational and problem solving skills¨ Minimum of four years teaching experience in Special Education¨ New York State SDA or SDL and Special Education certifications¨ Full fingerprint clearance through NYSED OSPRASalary: As per contract
