The Help Desk Support Specialist provides Level 1 technical assistance and support for all technology hardware and software related issues . This involves the management, documenting, resolution, and triaging of district wide incoming help tickets. Glens Falls CSD IT office supports and manages several hundred desktops operating in a windows virtual environment, over 2,000 chrome OS devices, many other systems and peripheral hardware including print and audio visual. Candidate should be comfortable supporting all.Responsibilities? Provide technical support in response to incoming requests? Troubleshoots problems by determining the source of an issue (hardware, software, user, access, etc.) to help resolve the support ticket.? Document tasks, update Help Desk tickets, and manage ticketing system.? Perform on-site installations, repairs and configurations in the schools? Connect to off-site locations for remote support? Perform hardware repairs and software supportSkill Sets? Outstanding problem-solving abilities? Good organizational skills, ability to prioritize and multitasking capabilities? Excellent verbal and written communication skills desired? Ability and willingness to learn new systems and tasks? Strong collaboration skills? Interpersonal skills; communicates effectively with users of all skill levels in a way that he/she understand.? Time Management - Manages one’s own time to accomplish assigned tasks. Understanding of organizational structure in order to gain the knowledge necessary for effective prioritization.Travel? The applicant will need access to a vehicle as travel between district school buildings is required.Qualifications? At least a High school diploma and at least two years of previous technical support skills and experience for this position preferred.? Experience in Help Desk and/or Desktop support? Well-rounded technical skills in all key areas of end-user computing: hardware, software, networking, security as well as keeps abreast of latest technology trends in the marketplace
