Stratford School - Elementary band teacher leave replacement November 16, 2026 through February 12, 2027 Provide small group instrumental lessons and full-ensemble instruction while maintaining continuity within the established elementary band program Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment Provide developmentally appropriate instruction Prepare students for scheduled performances Collaborate with colleagues and families Qualifications Appropriate NYS certification in music Strong instrumental background with knowledge of beginning band pedagogy Effective instructional, rehearsal, classroom-management and communication skills Ability to adapt instruction to support students with diverse learning & developmental needs Experience teaching elementary band preferred Experience with musical theatre & adaptive music instruction preferred. The ideal candidate will build positive relationships with students and colleagues while supporting each student’s musical growth, confidence & sense of belonging
