Performs maintenance tasks in the upkeep of buildings, machinery, furniture, metal work, and electrical, plumbing, steam, and HVAC equipment; performs related duties as required. Duties include painting; repairs; assistance in the installation of plumbing, heating, and refrigeration; use of hand and power tools for construction, remodeling and repairing doors, windows, furniture, cabinets, furniture, moldings, scaffolds and steps. Installation of locks. Glass and furniture refinishing. Repairs to sewer equipment and machinery including fixtures and pipelines, as needed. Keep tools and equipment in good working order and keep work areas in good condition. Knowledge of construction and maintenance materials and methods; ability to use tools effectively and follow oral and written instructions. Physical strength and agility. Ability to use computers for equipment operation and monitoring, a plus, but not required. Qualifications: Graduation from a vocational or trade school plus one year experience in performing general or specialized maintenance and repair tasks in buildings, and on various types of machinery, equipment, furniture and tools- OR - 3 Years satisfactory experience as outlined above.
