I. Position DescriptionThe Grants Coordinator will assume district-wide responsibilities for the management of grants and will report to the Assistant Superintendent of Business & Finance. Management areas include, but are not limited to, financial planning, fiscal management, budget development, auditing, purchasing, cost analysis, reporting, and closeout. In addition, this individual will work closely with the cabinet level administrators to coordinate and maximize grant funding.II. Typical Work Activities in the Area of Grant ManagementOversees, plans, and coordinates the requisitioning and purchasing activities. Maintains district budgetary and purchasing control records.Processes and approves district purchase orders and payment of bills for supplies, equipment, and utilities and follows up on undelivered goods.Prepares financial and statistical reports on grants for the Board of Education, District Office Administrators, and State authorities. Compiles data for and assists in the preparation of the grant writing.Oversees and coordinates inventory control, distribution and storage of district supplies, equipment, and books.Assist in the research and development of grant proposals.III. QualificationsIt is anticipated that the successful candidate will possess the following qualifications: New York State Certification SBA, or SDBL or eligible for provisional certification at time of application. Formal training in business management and finance. Successful experience in and a thorough knowledge of school grant management. The desire to work on a variety of tasks in a flexible manner.
